your Wikli-fix: heart & home

It may be that home is where the heart is, but there's still plenty of love to go 'round once you step out your front door. It's a hallmark of Columbia Citizenship: we love where we live.

Ash Wednesday service

At Columbia Lakewood Community Church, February 13, please plan to attend our annual traditional Ash Wednesday service. As we begin the season of Lent, this somber, sacred service reminds us of our mortality and need for repentance in our lives.

Service is at 7pm. A light supper of bread and soup will be served beginning at 6pm. Columbia Lakewood Community Church is located at 5005 S Ferdinand St. For more info, contact Pastor Jeff 723-9272 or moc.nsm|2rekrabj#moc.nsm|2rekrabj

open plots at Dakota p-patch

There are several open plots in the Dakota P-Patch (in Dakota Park at the north end of NRV West, between S Dakota St and S Lilac St, west of MLK, next door to the Seattle Community Farm). P-Patch waiting lists average about 3 years, but everyone on our list has passed on the open plots. Speak up now and you could be in the garden this spring!

survey for playground/field renovation

We need your opinion.

We're a group of neighborhood parents with students at Orca K-8, a local alternative, public school located on 46th Ave S in the old Whitworth building.  We're working to renovate the existing playground and field on the west side of the school. Cultivating a community gathering space that nourishes and supports the Orca K-8 school and the surrounding neighborhood.  We would like input from the community, as many that do not have students at the school, still use the area as a local park.

Please take 5 minutes and complete this online survey to help us with initial input for ideas and design.
