Seattle Audubon Master Birder programThe Seattle Audubon Master Birder program is an incredible opportunity to learn about the birds of Washington state. Master Birder is a two-semester course and education-for-service program focusing on the identification and natural history of Washington's birds. Since its origin in 1988, we've offered the course every other year. Participants benefit from an intensive study of Northwest birds and serve as valuable resources for Seattle Audubon and the community. Volunteer to host families experiencing homelessnessMarch 13-20 Columbia City Church of Hope will host up to 14 women and children who are experiencing homelessness. Mary's Place, a day shelter for women and children, is sponsoring this rotating family shelter. We have the space, and we just need volunteers to provide hospitality to families who might otherwise be on the streets as they wait for more stable housing. Sign up online to bring dinner, plan activities for kids, spend the night, or just to hang out for a few hours. Children are welcome and encouraged to volunteer (accompanied by an adult). There will be a training and background checks for all volunteers. Questions? Contact Pastor Darla DeFrance at Church of Hope, 3818 South Angeline, 722-5651 or gro.epohyticaibmuloc|alrad#gro.epohyticaibmuloc|alrad
