celebrating creation

During the month of September our Sunday morning services will celebrate the beauty of creation and reflect on how we have been treating Earth. Each week will have a focus on forest, land, rivers, or wilderness. Join us this month as we explore ways to deepen our awareness of God in nature and to find ways to heal our planet.

Sundays, 10:30am, 3818 Angeline St.

This Sunday, September 11 after the service, we continue our celebration of creation by carpooling up I-90 for a 4-5 mile hike in the Cascades.

celebrating summer readers

The staff at the Columbia Branch library are thrilled that the community recorded reading over seven thousand books this summer! We particularly want to recognize the reading achievments of our children, who took the initiative to reduce or eliminate summer setback by reading at least 10 books during the summer months.

We're having a community celebration with a special awards ceremony for all child readers who have read 10 or more books over the summer. Bring your camera and join us for food, fun and more.

Saturday September 10, 2pm at the library.

looking for a teaching space

We are looking for a space in the south end — meeting or classroom — to give a weekend workshop for up to 20-30 people on weekend of 29th/30th October.

We have a very small budget and are a community organization helping to spread the word about the Community Acupuncture Movement. The workshop will be open to acupuncture students and we will need chairs and a couple of tables, probably a kitchen if possible.

Please email us at moc.liamg|llaroferutcnupuca#moc.liamg|llaroferutcnupuca if you have any leads for us.

picnic at the South Precinct

Each summer, the Seattle Police Foundation sponsors Picnic at the Precinct. This event provides an opportunity for precinct neighbors and businesses to come together and enjoy a day of celebration with their local police. Thousands of Seattle residents enjoy food, music, entertainment, as well as an opportunity to meet their local police officers, learn about their local precincts, learn about many of the Department's specialty units, and receive information about crime prevention and community services available in their area.

Picnics are an opportunity for community members to have non-enforcement interactions with police, and to learn about how to get involved in preventing crime in their neighborhoods. Precinct Picnics are free for all to attend.

Instruction will be available for those new to the practice. Cushions are available as well. There is no cost. Please email me if you are interested at ten.tsacmoc|hcrayellekj#ten.tsacmoc|hcrayellekj.
