call for artists & craftspeople, Art in the Alley applications

The Columbia City Gallery is accepting applications from artists and craftspeople in all media to participate in Art in the Alley, Southeast Seattle's outdoor visual arts festival. Every year, we fill the alley just to the north of the Gallery with art and the artists who make it. This year, we are pleased to be partnering with Rainier Valley Summer Streets Block Party and Parade, which will bring hundreds of potential customers to the neighborhood. Art in the Alley is on Saturday, August 20th from 11 am – 5 pm. You can download vendor applications on the front page of our website.

Columbia City Bakery CSB

Columbia City Bakery's CSB is accepting subscriptions for the upcoming months.

Based on the model of Community Supported Agriculture (CSA), our Community Supported Bakery (CSB) aims to create a more direct relationship between our artisan bakers and customers. A subscription to our CSB provides you with a weekly delivery of breads and sweets, dropped off at a convenient location in your neighborhood. You can personally select the items you want, or you can let our bakers make the decisions for you with our Baker's Choice (our most popular option).

To sign up for artisan bread and sweet delivery visit ColumbiaCityBakery.com

“Keeping Arts Alive” for kids

Arts In Motion is excited to announce the Pepsi Refresh Project has accepted our proposal. If we get enough votes to be among the top ten projects by the end of June, $50,000 in funding will be awarded. It would help hundreds of kids at Arts In Motion right here in Columbia City along with other elementary schools in SE Seattle. Imagine — Music, Drama, Dance, Visual Arts and Film classes — all made available to our community simply by voting for our project. Voting is easy. Go to our Keeping Arts Alive page and vote.

live at the CCT -- album release, pride party & more

It's a big week at Columbia City Theater, not only are we celebrating the release of a live album recorded on our stage, on cassette, we're also celebrating one year of business. We can't thank you all enough for your support over the past year, it has truly been a pleasure (and an adventure) and we'll be celebrating the milestone properly with a free show next Saturday, July 2nd.

But we're getting ahead of ourselves, because we've got some great events happening this week at the theater and a brand new video calendar to tell you all about it.
