Bethany Community Garden (Beacon Hill)

The Bethany Garden is a community space located at the corner of Beacon Ave & Graham Street. Its operations are overseen by Bethany UCC church on whose campus it is located. Congregation members and neighbors cultivate their own plot within the garden; we still have lots of spots available for eager gardeners for the upcoming season!

Please join us on Feb 3rd at 6:30 PM at the Lakewood/Seward Park Community Club to discuss the recent spike in crime in our neighborhood, Mark Solomon from the Seattle Police Department will be presenting information on how to protect your home, cars, and other valuables, and will be on hand to answer questions about the recent burglaries and car prowls.

The meeting will also give local block watch captains a chance to get together to share information, to meet one another, and to brainstorm about what we can do as a community to combat crime. If you are interested in starting a block watch on your street, there will be information on hand to help you get started. We hope to build a more comprehensive block watch network in our area, and your participation is the first step. See you there!

Ice Cream for Breakfast Day was started by a young mother in Rochester, NY 50 years ago, and we've helped contribute to making it an internationally celebrated event. Join us this year at Full Tilt to celebrate ice cream, winter, creativity, and fun. Contests include ice cream limerick, headline, flavor idea, and the brain freeze. The winning flavor idea may even appear on the Full Tilt menu. Waffles, ice cream, creativity, and TROPHIES! Don't miss it.

John & Freddie Helmiere are hosting this month's rotating neighborhood brunch in their home at 5028 45th Ave S (between Hudson & Dawson, very close to Orcas K-8 School). All are welcome! We'll be serving homemade waffles and you are invited, but by no means required, to bring something to add to the meal. p.s. We've got couches galore!
