your Wikli-fix: resolution solutions

Happy New Year! When it comes to resolutions, the Wikli is remarkably irresolute. So it's heartening to see there's so much help out there.

Live locally.

Google's having trouble with our calendar's links — hopefully they'll fix that soon.

Columbia Twitterzens are pulling together this Sunday at Verve.

Arts In Motion perform with legendary Roger Waters

In December Arts In Motion students had the honor of performing onstage with rock legend Roger Waters of Pink Floyd fame. The group of kids quickly came together as teammates and friends over this opportunity to sing and perform "Another Brick in the Wall" with Roger and his spectacular stage show.

Sixteen AIM students sang and danced their way into an experience of a lifetime.

CCBIA seeks manager

The Columbia City Business Improvement Area (BIA) has an opening for a part-time manager. The manager will be an independent contractor working an average of 10 hours per week. It is a hands-on, problem-solving type job involving both administrative and program responsibilities. The BIA's focus is on keeping the Columbia City commercial district clean, safe and well-maintained. The manager should have a keen interest in the appearance and vitality of Columbia City, be a good communicator, have strong administrative and contract management skills, and enjoy spending time in the district.

Candidates interested in receiving a detailed scope of work should send a letter of interest by January 15th, 2011 to the Secretary of the BIA Ratepayers Advisory Board, Rob Mohn, at ten.tsacmoc|trebornhom#ten.tsacmoc|trebornhom.

tribute to the troubadour and more

We're starting off the New Year with a big bang at Columbia City Theater. We're honored to be welcoming Seattle iconoclast and celebrated songwriter Damien Jurado to our stage this Friday. Jurado will be joined by two of Seattle's most talented up and coming song writers, in a night we predict will be our first sold out shows of many in 2011.
