• SNAP! The Columbia Library is hosting the City of Seattle's SNAP Program: Seattle Neighborhoods Actively Prepare. It's the newest preparedness program for disasters being offered by the City. Come learn how your family and your neighborhood can be better prepared for the next disaster. Learn how to put together a disaster supplies kit, create a family disaster plan and organize with your neighbors to take care of each other when disaster strikes. It would be great to have all our neighborhoods represented. Thursday, May 8th 6:30-8 pm.
• Storytimes continue on Fridays from 10:30-11:15 with Miss Nancy.
• Play & Learn meets from 11:30-1 with Janice from Neighborhood House. Children 5 and under and their grownups are welcome to come an play!

Development of Columbia Plaza

The Columbia City Review Committee meets Friday, April 18, at 4:15pm in the Columbia Library. The only item on its agenda:

Briefing on proposed demolition and redevelopment of the Columbia Plaza site. The presentation by representatives from Weinstein AU will include a summary of the historic properties report and discussion of scale and massing details for the proposed mixed-use project.

This is the project's second meeting with the committee. The site is large and centrally located — between the historic core, the school, the park, and the library. The review committee is made up of community members, and they welcome your thoughts.

Glass Heron Unveiling & Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Please join us at the newly remodeled Seward Park Environmental & Audubon Center for the unveiling of a donor wall of cast glass and stainless steel, created and installed by SEED's Public Art Program, with local glass artist Mark Ditzler, metal artist Benson Vess, and sandblasting by Cathy Shilts at Dimensional Imaging.

The donor wall features a 5'-tall cast glass heron and recognizes over 150 donors whose contributions made the remodel of the historic landmark building at the entrance the Seward Park a reality. Building tours & nature walks will also be available!

You love living in Columbia City, so why not show your support for your local community and join the CCity Runners for a fabulously invigorating run?
