Help plan the next use of the Columbia School

Meeting on Saturday, March 29 at 10am at Tutta Bella.

In the summer of 2009, the New School will leave the Columbia School for its new facility in Rainier Beach. For the first time in more than 100 years, a public school may not be operating in the heart of Columbia City. Over the coming year, the Seattle School District will likely decide what to do with the soon-to-be-vacant Columbia School building.

The community has founded Friends of Columbia School (FoCS)… Read more.

Organic Gardening Class starting April 13

Learn to grow organic vegetables and fruits in your own yard — healthy for you, for your kids, and for the planet, and satisfying for your soul!

Class will meet for four Sunday sessions, 3-5 pm, beginning April 13, in my garden just south of Columbia City. At each class we'll cover some theory, get our hands in the soil, and answer your questions. Classes will be kept small so that we can address your needs. Cost for the four sessions is $85, or sliding scale, or $10 off if you register and pay by April 5.

Taught by Elizabeth Walker, experienced gardener and teacher. Here's more information, or contact ten.ysaekaeps|reklawce#ten.ysaekaeps|reklawce.

Columbia Citizens updates

There's a new page to help Citizens organize the 2008 Spring Clean.

There are two new neighborhood videos via the Seattle Channel:

Mariana has updated the SSCPC agenda.

Carrie has updated the front page of Sustainable South Seattle.

This week Columbia Citizens got a makeover. It's slimmer, trimmer, and hopefully even easier to read and to use. Basic web design ain't our strong suit, so if you see anything that's out of whack, please point it out.
