Vespertine Opera Theater is pleased to announce its Spring 2013 opera, a US Premier of Benjamin Britten's and Peter Pears' English, two-piano adaptation of Francis Poulenc's first opera, Les Mamelles de Tiresias. Based on a play by Guillaume Apollinaire for which the term Surrealist was coined, Vespertine Opera Theater will be performing Les Mamelles de Tiresias at the Columbia City Theater, Seattle's oldest existing Vaudeville theater and bar. Also featuring performances by Dean Williamson and David McDade on the two pianos, two nationally renowned music directors. Come join us for our two performances at 8:00pm on April 2nd and 4th to take part in a joyful celebration of Surrealism and an operatic experience unlike any other! The doors will be opened an hour before showtime, and all are invited to come early and enjoy a drink or two. Tickets are on sale now! Go to vespertineopera.com for details.
