Arts Gumbo: Argentina

On Saturday, November 10, Arts Gumbo 2012 presents Argentina with a musical performance by Tangabrazo, a Tango dance workshop for audiences and food at the Rainier Valley Cultural Center, 3515 S. Alaska St. in Columbia City.


Starting at 6 pm the Seattle-based Tangabrazo will perform a repertoire of elegant dance music ranging from the classic tango to more modern and original compositions. Tangabrazo is dedicated to playing passionate music that engages both dancers and listeners and the group brings decades of combined professional experience to create a rich ensemble sound.
After the performance, A Taste of Argentina will offer a sampling of food from the region’s cuisine. Audience members can also learn how to Tango in a workshop presented by Tango professionals Michelle Badion & Koa Hons. Badion & Hons have been teaching partner dancing, full time in the Seattle area since 1989 and make dance accessible and fun for everyone.

Tickets for Arts Gumbo 2012 can be purchased for $10 general; $7 seniors and students; $5 for children 2-12; and $25 for Families of Four or at the door or at BrownPaperTickets.

Arts Gumbo is co-presented by the Rainier Valley Cultural Center, SEEDArts and Consejo Counseling and Referral Service.
