CCBA spotlights Southeast Youth and Family Services
The Columbia City Business Association has selected for its quarterly "Community Spotlight" the Southeast Youth and Family Services. The CCBA’s Spotlight program is an effort to help the community at large get to know some of the wonderful local non-profit and service organizations that are improving the quality of life in our neighborhood. Additionally, the CCBA is maintaining donation boxes at participating businesses and at the Columbia City Farmers Market for SYFS's fall school supplies drive.
Located in the heart of Columbia City, SYFS helps children, youth and families make healthy life choices. Their services are intended to help keep kids in school and out of the juvenile justice system, address child abuse and neglect and help families become stable and self-sufficient. Their services range from counseling for all ages, early learning preparation, life skills classes and recreation for teens. SYFS emphasizes a culturally sensitive approach and serving people of all racial and ethnic backgrounds and wide variety of income levels.
Items most needed for the Back-to-School Drive include:
Crayons (16 or 24-packs)
Pencils and pens
Markers (washable)
Scissors (blunt-tip)
Rulers and glue sticks
Spiral notebooks and ruled paper
