Kick off summer at the library
Columbia Branch celebrates the beginning of Summer Reading with two special programs, one for teens and one for children.
We invite all children, teens and adults to sign up for the Summer Reading Program and win prizes (drawings for Kindles for teens and adults) for reading or listening to stories.
For more information about summer events at the Columbia branch please go to the events calendar or call 386-1908.
On June 28 at 2 pm Shadee Berger, Teen Services Librarian at the Columbia Branch will be hosting a program for teens (ages 12-18) called DIY: Recycled Tees. Do you have a t-shirt that needs a make over? Want to create a unique piece of art that you can wear? Bring in your shirt and make it over with supplies provided by the Library.
On June 30 at 11am children's librarian Erica Sternin hosts Arts In Motion for a program called Pitter Patter Rhythm. In this program, young children explore rhythms from around the world with professional musicians. Children begin to recognize patterns and rhythms through hand drumming, movement and hands-on participation with other percussion instruments. For ages 2-6.
