community day of service at Hawthorne Elementary
Hawthorne Elementary will host a community day of service on Saturday, March 24 from 10 am -1 pm to celebrate and complete the playground installation.
Hawthorne invites friends, neighbors, local businesses and community members to join school staff and parents to finish final project tasks so the new playground can be opened as soon as possible. Free coffee and snacks will be served!
The National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP) is having its annual conference in Seattle this spring. As part of their pre-conference events, principals will participate in a day of giving back to the local community.
This year, NAESP has chosen Hawthorne to receive a new playground. On Wednesday, March 21st from 10:00am-1:00pm, principals from all over the country are coming to do a Day of Service (co-sponsored by NAESP and Landscape Structures, Inc.), to install the $30,000+ play structure, donated by Landscape Structures Playground Company.
Hawthorne's new play area will not only benefit its students, but can also be used and enjoyed by all families in the neighborhood.
