Join us as we celebrate the launch of Community Arts Create's newest program, Taste International, with a special night of food from around the world. Friday Mar 2, 2012 at 7pm.

Community Arts Create works to build community through self-discovery and shared experiences. The overarching goal is to revitalize Southeast Seattle through community-created and culturally-infused art.

As an exciting new after-school culinary program taking place at Franklin High School, Taste International brings nutrition, urban gardening, and international cuisine all under one roof. With the goal of fostering healthy eating, sustainable practices, and cultural competency, the program intends on bridging cultural misunderstandings through an exploration of culinary art. With generous support from Group Health Cooperative, Sur La Table and Urban Enoteca, the program's holistic cooking instruction incorporates conversation about the history, traditions and relationships associated with food, as well as the future of our food systems.

To help kick off this momentous program, Community Arts Create is hosting a special evening celebration at the Mount Baker Community Club to preview the cuisines, styles and methods that will be featured in this 14 week course.

Local chefs from all over Seattle have teamed up for this event, each bringing a different cultural cooking style to the table. From Creole and Egyptian to Thai and Northwest cuisine, this special meal will dazzle guests while supporting a good cause. All proceeds from the dinner will go directly to Taste International.

Beer and wine will be provided from breweries and wineries from all over Washington state.

We hope you can join us for a fun filled night to celebrate food from around the world, music, and community.
