work party cancelled, Cheasty/Mt. View

Due to the July 4th holiday weekend, we have decided to not hold the first of the month July work party in Cheasty Greenspace/Mt. View. However, we will be back out in the woods on Saturday, August 7 from 10am-12pm. Please mark your calendars and plan on doing important restoration work with your neighbors and community.

We've completed our first planning phase for a trail system in Cheasty Greenspace/Mt. View. The plan is fantastic and very exciting to imagine!

Latest information on our trail plan process:

We are grant writing for another round of funding with the Department of Neighborhoods Small and Simple Match fund. As part of this proposal, we will need individuals to 'pledge' volunteer hours towards this project over the next 12 months. There is much work to be done at our monthly forest restoration work parties, community outreach, and fundraising event planning. Donate an hour, donate more! Every volunteer hour is equal to $20 in grant match dollars so all pledges are needed and appreciated.

Please contact Mary DeJong (co-founder & co-chair, Friends of Cheasty Greenspace/Mt. View) for more information.
