celebrate women in film & 3 CD releases
We've got a week full of celebrations at Columbia City Theater. Three talented local artists will release their new CDs: singer-songwriter Kris Orlowski (Thursday), punk rockers Virgin Islands (Friday) and the jaunty vaudeville pop of Curtains for You (Saturday). But that's not all — from 7 to 9pm on Friday, we'll be joining SIFF in celebrating the many talented women film-makers in this year's film festival.
But don't take my word for it, watch our weekly video calendar, featuring the adventures of CCT employees Mark and Luke:
- Thursday May 12 — Kris Orlowski with the Passenger String Quartet (CD Release Show), The Merry Way, Alessandra Rose — 8pm / $10
- Friday May 13: SIFF Celebrates Women in Film with a FREE Preview of the female film-makers in this year's festival. The event starts at 7pm and is open to everyone!
The Stranger and Sonic Boom Records Present: The Fucking Eagles, Virgin Islands (CD release Party), Hounds of the Wild Hunt, Sugar Sugar Sugar — 9pm / $8
- Saturday May 14 — Curtains For You (CD Release Party), Shelby Earl, Derby, Ghosts I've Met — 9pm / $10
