call to artists - Columbia City ArtWalk
Artists in the SE district, we want your art!
Beginning Thursday, May 19, 2011, Columbia City will host a new monthly artwalk event, Bohemian Backstreets. The ArtWalk will take place every third Thursday from May through September, and will feature unique works of art, in all its varying forms, from artists around the Puget Sound region.
We particularly want artists that represent the district of SE Seattle. Additionally, if you live in Columbia City, wanna put your studio on the map?
This art walk is the inaugural program coordinated and hosted by Community Arts Create (CAC), an associated program of Shunpike — a new nonprofit in the SE district that organizes programs and opportunities that use art as a vehicle for building a healthy, vibrant and connected community.
- All work must be original and for sale.
- No dealers or sales representatives are allowed.
Application is required for consideration and participation is restricted to artists selected by the CAC Bohemian Backstreets art selection committee. We especially encourage artists and artisans living in Southeast Seattle to apply.
There are a limited number of tables available. All applications are due by Thursday, April 28, 2011. We'll notify selected artists by Monday, May 2, 2011. Selected artists will receive a registration form with their notification. We'll charge participating vendor artists a $25 table fee for a space roughly 10' wide x 5-8' deep.
As part of the art walk, we are encouraging that Columbia City studio artists participate as well. There will be a charge of $25. Price includes:
- Identification markers on Art Walk Map letting people know where your studio is.
- Coverage on CAC website with blurb about your art and studio.
We are also seeking:
- performing artists (anything that can be done on a small stage, or in a small space in the alley. This is paid $50/person, max $200/group, for maximum 1 hr.
- gallery artists (these are artists who will be showcased in a venue for the entire month. They will work with CAC, and the owner of the business).
If you're interested in applying as a vendor artist, please email 3-5 jpegs of work representative of what you would like to sell to: moc.liamg|wnetaercstra#moc.liamg|wnetaercstra
Please put "Bohemian Backstreets" jpegs in the subject and your contact info in the body of your email.
