June 24 — In conjunction with the gallery's current exhibit, The HeArt of Haiti, Columbia City Gallery and Strength Through Unity (L'Union Fait La Force) present Art to Action, an evening talk about how art can help Haiti. David Pierre-Louis, a Haitian Seattle resident and Strength through Unity founder, and the nonprofit director Farah Ebrahim will discuss Pierre-Louis' most recent trip to Haiti, the artwork in the gallery's current exhibit, and their organization Strength through Unity. They'll also show a film about Pierre-Louis' most recent trip to Haiti.

Proceeds from the HeArt for Haiti artwork sales benefit Haiti's sustainable redevelopment through Strength through Unity. The HeArt of Haiti, curated by Lani Lehman, will be on display until August 1, 2010. One painting, "Strength through Unity", will be sold via silent auction. We'll accept bids June 16 – 26 in person, over the phone or via email. The gallery will notify the highest bidder on Saturday, June 26 at 5 pm.
