Trail Design Meeting for Cheasty/Mt. View
We invite you to the last community trail design meeting for Cheasty Greenspace/Mt. View on Thursday, June 17, 2010 from 7:00 - 8:30pm. Our fantastic landscape architects (and CCity neighbors!), Johnson Southerland, will unveil their recommended plan for this pivotal space.
This meeting will be held at the street end of S. Alaska Place (one block west of the CCity Light Rail Station). The Open House-style meeting will present the recommended trail plan; we will also have guided walks through Cheasty Greenspace/Mt. View.
Please come to our Community Meeting #3 — June 17, 2010 from 7:00-8:30pm.
The Friends of Cheasty Greenspace at Mt. View is a group of citizens working to preserve the unique habitat, and create a safe, pedestrian passage-way and enjoyable space, in this urban greenspace. We see this park as a wooded resource for families in the community, an environmental classroom for our youth and a critical commuter route to the Columbia City Light Rail Station.
We have been awarded a $15,000 planning award from the Department of Neighborhoods to create a master plan for a trail system in Cheasty Greenspace/Mt. View. The greenspace project includes developing safe trails and trail way-finders, creating environmental learning and community gathering spaces and developing welcoming trailhead entrances to the greenspace. As the first step, we have hired the Columbia City firm, Johnson Southerland, to create a plan with YOUR vision.
