"Fat Cats & Booze Laws on the Ballot: Tax the Rich & Stop Privatization" is the theme of a forum open to the public. Come learn how the initiatives on the November ballot will affect you. Bring your questions and opinions!

Speakers
JEFF JOHNSON – Washington State Labor Council legislative advocate and member of the Workers Compensation Labor Caucus, describes the dangers of Initiative 1082.
MARTHA KOESTER – Spokeswoman for Sisters Organize for Survival, campaigning for passage of Initiative 1098. Member of Physicians for Social Responsibility.
PATRICIA FLORES – State liquor store employee who lives and works in the Rainier Beach neighborhood. Member of United Food and Commercial Workers Local 21.
STEVE HOFFMAN – Martin Luther King County Labor Council delegate from WFSE Local 304, which is fighting budget cuts affecting community college students, staff and faculty.
Doors open at 6:30pm. Tasty snack plates served for a $6 donation. Program starts at 7:30pm, $3 door donation requested. Sliding scale and work exchanges available.
Everyone is welcome to attend. The event will be held at New Freeway Hall, 5018 Rainier Ave S (just south of the Hudson St).

Looking forward to this discussion. Some of this ballot measures are draconian but I'm excited about I1098 (income tax on the rich, who are getting richer while more and more are unemployed and busted).
