Join us for a 2008 "Night Out" Block Party
We'll clear all the cars away, shut down the tree-lined street, set up the bouncy house, strike up the band and celebrate a summer evening.
Starting at 6:30 pm
S. Americus, between 39th & 42nd
This is an event the kids won't want to miss! You'll be treated to live music by the kid-centric band, The Not-its. The kids can go nuts in the bouncy house while you throw a little something on the BBQ.
Please bring something for the grill and a side dish, dessert, or drink to share.
Bring chairs or blankets, whatever you prefer to sit on.
Bring kids' bikes, scooters, skates, street games, chalk, face paint. Oh, and bring the kids, the siblings, the parents, and your friends.
And most importantly, bring along some cash to reimburse Shelly for the bouncy house, and some money to throw in the bands guitar case.
This is a neighbor-driven event, so bring any ideas or activities that you feel will help make the celebration a great one.
Here's what we need to do — please sign up for empty slots.

- Setting up start around 5:30 or so. It involves closing down the street and arranging tables, grills & trash cans. It might involve a friendly reminder to neighbors to move their cars around the corner.
- Cleaning up involves returning tables to their owners, reopening the street, and picking up any remains of the party.
Here's what we need:
Please bring your own plates, cups, plasticware or cutlery, lawn chairs and blankets.
