Our funny and talented neighbor, Bob Downing, has conceived, developed, and is performing an original adaptation of Shakespeare's Julius Caesar. It's sort of stand-up comedy meets classic Shakespeare, with a dose of current events and community organizing thrown in.
Performances will be the two upcoming Mondays, March 24 and March 31, at 7pm, at the Ark Lodge Cinema. (Yes, it's a stage show, but the cinema is a perfect venue; you'll see why when you get there!)
You can buy tickets in advance at http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/565536
Or simply pick them up at the door for only $5.
This performance is perfect for any long-time Shakespeare lovers out there, or for people who have always known they're supposed to "appreciate" him but have never been able to figure out how. It's also perfect for people who are interested in politics or community organizing or just engaged in our modern world. It's good for teenagers, but not really appropriate for children.
