The Columbia City Gallery is pleased to announce its Visiting Artist Program. This new program seeks to explore the diversity of art throughout the world by inviting international artists to exhibit their work at the gallery. The Columbia City Gallery will introduce new international artists annually to encourage dialogs for cultural exchange.
Our first Visiting Artist is Tendai Gumbo, a multi media artist from Zimbabwe. Ms Gumbo will show ceramic sculptures and multi-media paintings which incorporate textiles and natural fibers into their varied surfaces. There will be two opportunities to meet this incredible artist. She will be at the Artists' Reception, Saturday, 7/19, 5 - 8pm. She will also give a talk on "Contemporary African Art" on Thursday, July 24 at 7pm in the gallery. Please call 206.760.9843 for more information.
The Columbia City Gallery presents "ART in the ALLEY," the second annual outdoor Art Exhibit and Sale. Friday, August 1, 5 - 9 pm, in conjunction with Beatwalk. Art will be displayed in the alley just north of the gallery — all exhibiting artists will be present, so it will be a wonderful chance to mingle with the artists!
