Did you know that Seattle has enough fruit trees to produce several tons of fruit every year? In order to prevent such a valuable resource from going to waste, City Fruit harvests thousands of pounds of fruit to donate to emergency food providers. This is where we could use your help.
Meet your neighbors and spend sunny days picking fruit with City Fruit starting this July - September. There is no time commitment - harvest once or multiple times with us. Harvests will take place Monday and Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings. We are currently looking for people interested in harvesting in SE Seattle neighborhoods. The most common types of fruits you'll be harvesting are apples, pears, and plums. As a way of saying thanks, volunteers will get to bring some fruit home.
