
Mitriyah (“Umbrella”), a new Jewish organization based in South Seattle, presents A Klezmer Hanukkah, 5-8 pm, Sunday, December 9, at the Social Hall, Church of Hope, 3818 South Angeline Street, Seattle, just east of Rainier Avenue in the heart of Columbia City. The celebration, Mitriyah's "unfurling" event, will include candle-lighting, live music, stories, dancing, a vegetarian potluck, and crafts. The celebration features klezmer, jazz and marching band mavens Marc Smason and The Katatonics; Donations are on a sliding scale, $6-$36; children under 13 are free.
