P-I: Soulful and introspective, Tuvim has a rich, commanding voice. On her eclectic new album, "Nothing Sweet Nothing," Tuvim blends folk, pop, jazz and swampy blues. Her songs offer "unguarded observations on the quiet, in-between places where love fails — and where it is a saving grace," according to her website. She has been compared to Aimee Mann, Carly Simon and Joni Mitchell. Tuvim and her musical guests perform at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Columbia City Theater. Admission: $10 at brownpapertickets.com or $12.50 at the door. Information: 723-0088. |
