We walked by Susan's 5100 and were shocked to see all the furniture taken up and the space empty, except for a cart full of cleaning supplies. Anyone know what will happen to this space at Dawson and Wilson?
I've heard that the owners of Dulce restaurant are putting a new and similar place in where Susan's was. Anybody else know anything about this?

We would love the neighborhhod to know. We are the owners of Dulces Latin Bistro, www.dulceslatinbistro.com we started our business 16 years ago in West Seattle and 3 years later we moved it to Madrona. We have been looking to open something in the neigborhood since we also live here and sometimes get frustrated with not having enough choices.
Saffron will be a more modest version of Dulces, attached are the menus and wine list.
We will serve Lunch and continental breakfast Monday thru Friday beggining at 10 a.m.
Dinner Tuesday thru Saturday beggining at 4 p.m. and breakfast Saturday and Sundays from 8 to 3

I'm glad to see that this space will be opened again soon. I hope that the porch area stays open…I loved eating lunch out there in the summer.
Yeah, we definitely need more outdoor dining.
We could also use a place for night-time after-dinner drinks that was nicer than the AleHouse but not as wild as Lotties can be.
Any idea about whether they'll use local/organic food + ingredients?

One rumor I heard for that space was a Kosher pizza joint. Note: although I don't recall where I heard/read that and thus can't vouch for the source, one should not make a negative inference of this rumor based upon the date of this post.
In the same intersection, I guess the service station is closing. Does anyone know what's happening there? PCC expansion? Housing?
How's the new pizza place that used to be Pizza Rio?
Oh, and if you haven't gone, the Vita coffee is a great place to hang out, the staff is terrific and it has free wifi.
I heard that the PCC will eventually take over Rex's old space — but it's a long-term plan. Not sure what will happen in the short run.
