Neighbors and community members,
Our forest restoration work in Cheasty Greenspace/Mt. View (10 acre section just south of Columbian) continues! Come over and walk in the woods, listen for the Red Tail Hawks and watch the sunlight stream through the ivy-free trees.
Our normally scheduled first-Saturday of the month work party for July has been cancelled due to the holiday weekend.
However, please note that we will be hosting a work party on Saturday, August 1 from 10-2pm. We meet in front of our home (2809 S. Alaska Place) and provide all the tools.
Hope you will consider making it out and being apart of this transformative restoration!
We need you to come out this Saturday from 10-2pm to participate in transforming our neighborhood's backyard woods into a safe and wonderful wooded wonderland for all to enjoy! Come pull out ivy and other invasive species with the Friends of Cheasty Greenspace/Mt. View crew-we provide all the tools and gloves! You just need to show up with some energy, your own lunch and some good, sturdy shoes.
Meet at 10:00am in front of 2809 S. Alaska Place (dead end street 100 yards west of the MLK/Alaska intersection).
This is a fantastic community effort to rally around!
November 7 is the fourth annual Green Seattle Day-a day the city has dedicated to planting conifer and native trees in our urban parks and forests. This year Cheasty Greenspace-our neighborhood urban forest-has been selected to be THE main hub site for this city-wide event. Mark your calendars and plan to plant a tree in YOUR forest!
