Awhile back I heard this bakery would produce baguette-style bread used in Vietnamese sandwiches — bánh mì. I think they're focused mainly on wholesale to area restaurants, hopefully with some retail added in.
I like that two very different takes on French bread have come to one neighborhood center.
Was walking my dog the other morning, and talked to one of the guys working there, and he said he thought they would be open by mid-July. Bakery and deli.
Three weeks ago City Light upgraded the power on the street for the bakery. The electrical workers said it was an urgent job. However, the bakery building isn't yet connected to the street pole. Compared to how quickly Royal Room was opened, I think the bakery people aren't feeling any rush at all.
I'm looking forward to the additional bakery here. It may be presumptuous to say it's the bakery owners not being in a rush. They don't make any money until it's open and I don't know the circumstances of the delay.
Walked by this morning, and they were open! Didn't have a chance to go in, but it looks promising.
