Columbia City Gallery is pleased to present two simultaneous exhibits March 14 – April 29, 2012. In the Main Gallery, “Photosynthesis” highlights new work by gallery artists Mark Ditzler and Drew Forsell. Mark Ditzler creates unusual pieces - both decorative and functional - in glass, reflecting the organic shapes and rich colors and textures of the garden.
Drew Forsell employs the unique process that he has developed for transforming his exquisite floral photography into compositions which are highly texturized and often mysterious.
In the Guest Gallery, we present Uganda: Beneath the Surface.” This exhibit features the work of eight local artists who were inspired by their experience of working with the Batwa Pygmies in Uganda develop crafts to help them become self-sufficient. Crafts made by the Pygmies will also be on display. The artists are: Carol Brady, Judy Chambers, Marsha Conn, Lynn Di Nino, Cheryl Johnson, Elinor Maroney, Annie Moorehouse, Joan Robbins.
The Artists’ Reception for both exhibits takes place on Saturday, March 17, 5-8p. This event is free and open to the public.
