We called Paws Wildlife and they think it is a exotic pheasant, that was/is probably someone's pet. We made a bed for it last night but it didn't sleep in it and wasn't around this morning. Seemed to be drawn to our yard by our chickens normal chit chatting. Was pretty docile especially when the chickens were around.
Paws did say that if it can be caught it can be taken to Seattle Animal Shelter or to call an organization called Forgotten Kingdom 425-210-3807. If trying to catch they did caution against the birds spurs, which can cause injury. She recommended throwing a blanket over it.
It seemed pretty unhappy to be alone… would love for it to find its way to a safer, warmer, bird filled environment!
