Othello Park is seven and a half acres of thoughtfully designed open space serving the neighborhoods of Holly Park, Hillman City, Beacon Hill and Rainier Beach. Located on Othello Street just off Martin Luther King Jr. Way South, the park is easily accessible from the Othello Light Rail Station. The Othello Park contains a play area for children, a unique “hill slide,” basketball courts, picnic tables, an open meadow, and nice walking paths. The festival is produced by The Othello Park Alliance, a group of community volunteers working to retain and enhance the Park’s beauty and open space with a vision of integrating the park into a vibrant, multicultural, pedestrian-friendly community.
Come down on Sunday, August 21 between noon and 6pm, to the 5th Annual Othello Park International Music & Art Festival. You are promised a day filled with music and performances highlighting the talent and cultures of the Southeast Seattle community. Bring the kids to meet Stanley the Camel… Yes! A real live camel! Kids will also enjoy the Arts Creation Station providing hands on projects to feed your artistic tendencies. Hungry for more? You can wander the vendor booths, or just grab some food from our vendors, sit back and relax! Music, art, and food – what better way to spend a summer Sunday afternoon? The Othello Park International Music and Art Festival is part of the Rainier Valley Culture Fest Weekend, and a Seafair-sanctioned event.
