On behalf of the dedicated prison doulas, The Birth Attendants, we'd like to invite you for a great morning of brunch, beautiful company, and a lively auction benefiting this collectively run, non-profit organization. The Prison Doula Project provides pregnancy, parenting and labor support, around-the-clock doula services, and postpartum care to women incarcerated at the Washington State Correction Center for Women (WCCW).
They operate on a shoe-string and need your support, especially now. Here’s a Seattle Times article about their excellent work: http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/localnews/2004444808_prisondoulas29m.html
The Sunday post-Mother’s Day brunch will be held at the Lakewood Park Community Club (http://www.lspcc.org/) at 4916 S Angeline Street, 98118, from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm.
It’s a beautiful venue and we’ll have a kids’ corner too, so bring the whole family, in the unlikely event that it’s not raining, come by the brunch then visit lovely Seward Park.
Please RSVP to the event via the facebook page invite: https://www.facebook.com/?sk=messages&tid=2007653430548#!/event.php?eid=154574137937552
and purchase tickets in advance, for a $20 donation, by following this link: http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/170322.
If you cannot come, but would like to make a donation, you can do that via our “under construction” website too: http://www.birthattendants.com/
Thanks so much and I hope to see you there.
