Free. This is an HP Deskjet 3820. I bought it in 2002, and replaced it in 2005 because the color printing was sometimes out of focus, and it cost less to replace than to fix. You know that story. HP online service thought it might have been software related, since I was then still using Mac OS9. The black and w. function still works. It has just been sitting in the box since then. Can anyone use it?
May I recommend NEVER buying a "bubble jet" or "ink jet" printer again? The quality of these printers has done nothing but diminish to the point of a disposable camera. This is an effort to keep you in an endless consumer cycle of buying and replacing.
We exited this environmentally destructive cycle and bought an older Hewlett Packard (HP) LaserJet4 Plus. It uses a toner cartridge and it will print thousands of pages before we need to think about the cartridge ($10 to replace). It prints only black and white. The HP runs so smoothly and without problems I wonder why I ever bought a chintzy inkjet printer before now.
