Are you a woman who’s interested in writing poetry but don’t consider yourself a writer? Has it been awhile since you've been in a learning environment? Are you looking for a fun, easy creative outlet you can pursue that doesn't require anything but a notebook, a pen, and a few minutes of your day? If any of this sounds familiar, please join this upcoming one-day class in Rainier Beach!
This class will be a free, short, and fun exploration of a few different styles of poetry and how to get writing. We'll do some fun, low-pressure writing exercises in a safe and supportive environment, discuss how to find inspiration for writing in the world around us, and discover some resources to help continue writing for ourselves or others (including hints on where to apply for publication!) after class has ended.
Notepads and pens will be provided - just bring your imagination and be ready to have a great time. This class will be held on Saturday, May 7, from 2:30-5:45pm at the Rainier Beach Library (9125 Rainier Ave S.). This branch is within walking distance of the Rainier Beach light rail and is on the 7, 8, 106, and 107 Metro bus lines.
