Hey everyone,
I hope I am posting this in the right spot. I am a new runner. I just finished my first 5k yesterday, and though I did jog/run it the entire time, I am still pretty slow going. That said, I am super excited about training. I love doing it, and I love seeing my progress. I am planning on training for a 10k over the next couple of months-hopefully I will be ready in early February. If you are wanting to be on a similar journey, let's do it together!
A little about me and my direction forward: I am 35, queer, sorta funny sometimes, sorta bitchy/cynical other times, but always ready to hit it hard and do my best. I have a 18 year old son, and I work my ass off as a high school teacher. As for running, I am aiming to run two-three weeknights a week, and one weekend. I am not much of a talker when I am running. I like listening to music but I do promise to say something kind of inspirational from time to time, even if it is just a dumb cliche—that shit helps me. On weekdays, evenings after 6:00 work best for me. If you are slow or just getting started, cool. I can hang with your process if you can hang with mine. Get back to me if you want to give it a go!
