To expand on George's post…
a loungy, down-tempo, wi-fi equipped, brick, coffee bar for grad students, business people conducting their work from computer, people wanting a half hour of marination away from home, away from work. your safe spot, your small place of temporary liberation. morning candlelight? check. steel garage door which rolls up to a brick courtyard with tables? check. a little d'angelo? check. great coffee? check. efficiency from your barista? here's hoping…check? $1 coffee all day every day? check. and a new opportunity to participate in a community spot where politics, activism, and conversation are promoted, encouraged, and at appropriate times, demanded. 5-10% of all profit will be donated to a community non-profit every quarter, with the intention of being a conduit from customer to community
This is the space where Villa Victoria had their storefront, only they've opened up the whole ground floor, so it opens to the sidewalk and the interior courtyard.
I love the live edge table tops and the sparkling newness of Empire Espresso. Latte was good too. I'm looking forward to a breakfast panini one of these days when I have time to sit down and enjoy the morning light in the courtyard. Maybe when the temperature dips below 80!
I like "live edge". I was trying to think of the right wording.
