[From Andrea John-Smith] Our next door neighbor was broken into yesterday [7/11/2007]. The burglars used what appeared to be a crow bar to take the back door out from the hinges. We were home most of the day so we think it happened just before our neighbor got home from work between 3 and 5pm. The alarm sounded during that time, but we were not here to hear it. Nothing was taken from the house – perhaps the alarm scared them away. We called our handyman Rick who came by and reinstalled the door and did so with extra long screws. The doors on our house are going to be fixed with the same long screws. The crook was able to get the door off because the screws were only 1 ½ inches to 2 inches long.
We live on the 3900 block of Angeline.
I'm hoping all the neighbors who live on the alleyway between Edmonds and Angeline just west of 42nd can please be mindful of what's going on. Thanks
