Participate in a special south-end story of urban forest restoration!

Cheasty Greenspace offers 43 acres of woodland habitat on the eastern slope of Beacon Hill. Neighbors and volunteers have joined together to restore the ten acre section of the greenspace just south of Columbian Way. We hope to create a safe and healthy park for all to enjoy! Please join us for one of our work parties to remove invasives and plant native trees and shrubs. Tools and gloves provided. Please wear weather appropriate clothing; bring drinking water and snacks if you wish.

We are hosting our monthly forest restoration work party this Saturday, March 7 from 10-2pm and would greatly appreciate your time and energy!
Thanks to some devoted time from the Student Conservation Corps in the month of February, Cheasty Greenspace at Mt. View is really looking good. There is still a lot of ivy to be pulled though! Come on out and be apart of the beginning efforts of this special south end park.
We meet at 2809 S. Alaska Place 98108; all tools and gloves are provided.
Oh, and did I mention that pulling ivy is especially cathartic in these tough economic times? :)
