Hi, I just moved into the neighborhood a couple of days ago. Can someone "invite Me" into the next door group? Thank you! I'm sad to see this go, since I have just stumbled upon it…but 6 years is a long time to maintain something—so thank you for putting this together!

Scott, your wikli will be missed. I do not get out of the house enough and it has been through your energy and enthusiasm for the rich life our 98118 offers that I’ve pretended to know what’s going on down here. Will we have to read DPD’s Land Use Information Bulletin and planning documents for ourselves? Q'elle horreur!

Thanks for everything you’ve done (and still do) for the neighborhood. See you around.

I'll add my thanks and gratitude, Scott. You've tended this wonderful resource for a long time now, and these kinds of labors of love are hard to sustain. I hope this will be like rhizomes that multiply underground, and will one day sprout up and grow into new trees of sharing and information.

This week's Wikli is our last. It's been a longstanding collaborative project, buoyed over six years by countless participants. Our goal has been to make community connections, and yeah, I think it's worked. I've enjoyed it immensely and am so thankful.

Recently this scene has grown quieter, for obvious reasons. A thriving neighborhood website needs caretakers who are consistently motivated. It needs to adapt to a constantly changing online ecosystem. It needs a moderator who can fully engage, inject new ideas, and inspire conversation, all with a light touch. It needs somebody else to step up and do their thing.

There's been some discussion about creating a cooperative neighborhood blog. I think that's a great idea, and I hope it happens. If it makes sense, I'm open to helping someone to adapt this platform to some new and different site. In the meantime, it'll be quieter here, but we'll keep the lights on. Columbia Citizens have mostly focused on the Wikli newsletter, but there's also plenty of other neighborhood information to be found here. This is a wiki, after all.

Here here are some of the other great online resources our neighborhood already has to offer:

We've got a facebook group

There's an email group for Columbia City Parents.

The CCBA maintains a website.

On Twitter, you can follow @CCitizens.

There are various email newsletters, from the Rainier Chamber, the Rainier Valley Historical Society, Lakewood Seward Park Community Club, and SEEDArts.

There's Southend Seattle and the Rainier Valley Post.

moc.liamg|ginuar.jram#ginuaR jraM sends regular messages about community safety.

Others? Feel free to post them below.

Thanks everybody. See you around.
