See, this is why Columbia City so desperately needed Full Tilt, to host events like this!

I'm in.

I heard that they were gonna host D&D. Have they settled on Wednesdays then, and have they started, I wonder?

OK, so it's been seven months since trying the first meetup - I think I wasn't paying attention and chose Oscar night… it was kind of a flop.

Is anyone still interested in doing this? I was talking with the guy at Full Tilt this evening and he was receptive of the idea of meeting up there. There are a ton of advantages to this place:

AMAZING ice cream AND beer!

Open late

Not too loud

a table in the back

vintage arcade games and pinball machines if you're waiting for another group to wrap up a game, or for a break between games.

It'd be great to have a place for gaming in this end of town. The only downside compared to going to the board games stores is the lack of an open library to choose from. I've got this to offer:

Pandemic + On the Brink expansion (2-5 players)

Settlers of Catan (3-4 players)

Carcassone (2-5 players)

Hive (2 players)

YINSH (2 players)

Balloon Cup (2 players)

I'd love to try out Agricola if anyone has it (the price tag has always scared me off!).
Anyway, I thought I'd see if people were still up for this. If I remember correctly, Full Tilt already has events on Tuesday (Pokemon) and Wednesday (D&D), but any other day would be free as long as we could let him know.

Post back or message me if you're interested, and maybe we can give this a second shot!

Lets start with the Ale House- they have that upper part of the restaurant that should accommodate a pretty big group. After that we can entertain the idea of rotating houses, that would be fun!

Sunday sounds good, maybe an occasional Friday…

Wow, I'm excited about the response this got! I also got a message from another couple that would be up for it. That brings it to about nine people if everyone were to show up, which leads to my follow-up question — does anyone have a suggestion for a place other than the Ale House in case that's too large a group? I was thinking that if we got a regular group going we could rotate meeting at people's houses, but it might be nice to meet out in the neighborhood somewhere for starters.

All those other games sound great. I've played Cathedral once and enjoyed it, and have been hoping for a chance to try out Power Grid.

Once we've got some consensus on a place to meet, we can work on a time - maybe a Sunday evening or something?

My girlfriend and I are interested in playing mostly Euro-style board games (like Settlers of Catan, Carcassonne, etc.) and were curious to see if we could get a little group together. We were thinking of meeting up in the Ale House maybe once every two weeks or so.

Our collection is relatively small right now (just Settlers of Catan, Through the Desert Carcassonne, Xiang Qi, Go, Balloon Cup, and Lost Cities), so we'd hope that other people would be able to contribute to the pool. Some are two-player games, but most are 3-5. Lots of good suggestions can be found on BoardGameGeek.

If you're interested, just add a post here and we'll put something together once there are enough people. Thanks for reading!
