Bloodworks Northwest will be back at Seattle's T-Mobile Park (1250 1st Ave S) in the Ellis Pavilion Room for our Seattle Mariners pop-up Feb 8, 9, 23, 25 & 27.

Donating blood is an act of kindness and love and one way to celebrate Valentine’s Day!

Diversity amongst donors is critical for patients needing on-going blood transfusions and giving blood in February is great way to honor African-American History Month (or Black History month)

Can’t make it to this site? We have lots of other convenient locations. Please sign up for the Mariners pop-up or another pop-up or at a center near you by using this link: https://dslnk.co/Zone5Bloodworks

Your donation could put you in the driver’s seat! When you donate blood with Bloodworks between now and March 17, you will automatically be entered for a chance to win a car! The lucky winner will have their choice among 9 pre-selected new vehicles from Haselwood Auto Group. More info at www.bloodworksnw.org/winacar

As an added benefit (during the month of February) all donors will automatically be tested for covid-19 antibodies and results mailed within 2 weeks of your donation.

Masks are required at all donation sites. To ensure social distancing, appointments are also required. Walk-ins, guests or anyone under 16 years of age are (unfortunately) not permitted. Have questions or need help booking an appointment? Please call 1-800-398-7888 or e-mail gro.wnskrowdoolb|eludehcs#gro.wnskrowdoolb|eludehcs

Giving blood during the pandemic is a safe and essential action. For more info on how Bloodworks is keeping donors and staff safe, by abiding by all CDC, FDA and WA State Department of Health guidelines please visit: https://www.bloodworksnw.org/about/news/coronavirus

Donors must wait 2 weeks after each COVID-19 vaccination dose for their next blood donation appointment. If you recently received a flu shot, there is no wait to donate.

Hello,
I am a student at the University of Washington working on a senior project this summer with Homegrown Organics, a small, permaculture-based landscaping company interested in improving waste management practices of home gardeners in the Seattle area. I am writing today to ask if you might be willing to post a link to my survey on your blog, it is a 5-minute survey (10 questions) which aims at collecting data about personal compost use and practices, which will then be used as a reference for creating an educational tool.I would be extremely grateful for your participation, as this is the most significant portion of my project and I have been struggling with getting meaningful responses. Please contact me with any questions, my survey can be found at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/26DWTRZ
Best,
Amber

There are a few openings for lessons in my piano studio! No matter your age or your ability, we can help you meet your needs and your goals as a pianist.

Experience has taught us that every student is different. Each one deserves piano lessons created around his or her skill level, learning style, future goals, and musical interests.

At my studio, students begin with the basics and receive a well-rounded musical education – from how to sit and position their hands, to sight-reading, to a little music theory to put it all together. Within two to six months, students master enough of the fundamentals to help choose their musical repertoire for future lessons.

Through it all, we mix in some fun — relevant games and learning incentives, even occasional music outings — to keep our students engaged.

Visit www.PianoWithSusanna.com for more information, and reach out to schedule your free trial lesson!

Join us for a free presentation and talk to an attorney about your student loan debt. We will cover types of loans and how to find out what type you have, payment plans, loan forgiveness options, private student loan issues, collection activity, scams to watch out for, bankruptcy, & resources.

Auditions for New Members – Saturday, November 4, 2017

The Northwest Boychoir will hold auditions for new members at its facility at the University Heights Center in Seattle on Saturday, November 4, 2017 or at a time convenient for families. We are looking for boys ages 6-9 for January enrollment.

All boys are eligible to audition; no prior musical training is required – just musical aptitude and obvious enjoyment of music. Financial aid is available to any student who meets our audition requirements. We are firmly committed to assisting families with financial aid to cover tuition and other program costs.

Audition appointments are scheduled through the Northwest Choirs office by calling 206-524-3234 or through our website at www.nwboychoir.org. Auditions are private and low-key, designed to make the boys feel comfortable and relaxed. They last about 15 minutes, and parents are strongly encouraged to be present.

Now in his 33rd year, Music Director Joseph Crnko leads a skilled teaching staff that is committed to delivering exceptional music training in a nurturing and professional environment. Founded in 1974, the Northwest Boychoir enrolls about 150 young singers annually in five levels of training choirs. Members represent more than 100 public and private schools in the greater Seattle area. Northwest Boychoir music staff members are trained musicians and music educators. Members enjoy the benefit of small classes and focused instruction.

Recognized as one of the nation’s premier children’s choral programs, the Northwest Boychoir serves as the official singing ambassadors of Washington State as recognized by five consecutive governors. The Northwest Boychoir also maintains a long-standing professional relationship with the Seattle Symphony, which gives members the opportunity to perform regularly with the region’s world-class symphony orchestra.

For more information regarding auditions or the Northwest Boychoir, call 206-524-3234 or visit the website at nwboychoir.org.

Seattle Glee Clubs, a local, nonprofit adult amateur singing organization is in the process of looking for new rehearsal space. We were wondering if you might be able to help spread the news to see if there is a local business or church that might have a space for us.

The Seattle Glee Clubs has been in existence for 25 years. We have rehearsed in West Seattle for over 11 years. We have had various singing and musical theater subgroups and currently have two: the Seattle Metropolitan Singers (The Met)and the Offbeats. The Met is a group of women of all ages singing as a chorus. The Offbeats are a vocal jazz ensemble with mixed voices. We rehearse from September through May, and perform concerts from October through June. We also sing at retirement communities, community centers, and The Great Figgy Pudding Caroling Competition to benefit Pike Place Senior Center. In addition to bringing music into the lives of our community, we support other local nonprofits benefitting women and children such as Mary’s Place and LifeWire by collecting donations at our concerts.

We are looking for space for up to 35 people to rehearse on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 6:30 – 9:30 pm. There may be occasions when additional evenings might be needed. We are also looking for secure storage for file cabinets of music, amplifiers, microphones and other accessory equipment.

We have been taking the next few months to find just the right fit for our organization. We are looking to forge a long-term relationship with a corporate sponsor, church, school, performance space or warehouse that would be willing to offer us a very low rate of rent for a tax write-off. Promotion of the corporate sponsor through our members, website, and concert programs would be one of the benefits.

More information about the Seattle Glee Clubs can be found on our website www.seattlegleeclubs.org.

I look forward to your reply and the possibility of creating a relationship with a local entity for a mutually benefitting proposal.

Sincerely,

Phyllis Jantz

Board Vice President and Seattle Metropolitan Singers member
